angry or sad... which are you?
by daddys girl inwow!
i just found this website and excitedly registered as i am df'd, and missing my family terribly.... i was hopeful that i might find a place to talk, share concerns and maybe vent occasionally.
i'm finding as i read however, that some people are incredibly angry and bitter and some of the comments seem mean and hurtful.

Welcome daddys girl - enjoy your stay!
You'll certainly learn lots here.
Work through your feelings as you encounter them, as tetra said, they'll probably be many and varied.

I did wonder if I might have scared PMJ as I commented that they spell some words how people in my area say them - they've not posted since then. Maybe, if I guessed close to their location they got worried about being found out.
Just a long shot. And I was just starting to warm to them too...

Hi spectrum - yup, that's about it! They only die by the will of Allah so to die there is in a way to receive the greatest blessing from him.

BUDWEISER: You're American and proud. You love your hometown, and hang out with your 'boys.' You'd much rather sit around and drink than go out and get drunk. Lite beers are for pansies and imports are for liberals. An American brew is the only choice.
I'm American? I must have been spending too much time talking with you guys over the big pond

Just another day for me too now. (i used to be a bit superstitious)
Dansk - I still won't walk under ladders but that's because I'm a health and safety nut! I do walk under if the alternative is to walk in the road though - the lesser of two evils methinks!

Hi Dave
I'm not a techie but I don't think there's any danger in the links posted here other than the usual cookie/adware/spyware stuff which you'll encounter anywhere else.
It has been suggested on JWD before though that you should open a seperate browser window to get to links if you want to avoid the risk of being traced back to this site.

YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT
by Terry ini'm amused.
i had a customer yesterday in the bookstore.
he was a chatty fellow.

lol Terry - I'm glad mine isn't the only bookshop that gets people like that!!
I get the ones who insist that the AV Bible is the only one approved by God and occasionally proceed to tell other customers as well as me, in fact I'm probably going to burn in hell for daring to stock other translations!
Hey minimus I just discovered that Terry's posts are perfectly configured for me to hit the mousepad on my laptop once to move on one sentence at a time! Cool!

Welcome to the board caryl
The NIV is probably one of the most popular translations in the UK - widely used as the 'pew Bible' in many different churches.
They have published an updated version last year called 'Today's New International Version' (TNIV) which has taken into account new discoveries relating to translation from original manuscripts. (sorry i seem to have writers block trying to describe that!) It also uses 'inclusive language' I don't know how long it will be before it replaces the NIV but the UK publisher seems to be putting a lot of effort into getting it into the market.
